The last little bit of summer...

Just a few pictures from our trip to the park on Labor Day. Lia tried out her "big girl" bike for the first time...much to her delight. I admit, we did not have a helmet for her, but other than the few seconds Jim stepped away for pictures, he was right beside her the whole time...and "helmet" is definitely on our shopping list before the next bike ride! I think Jim actually worked off a few pounds chasing her as she picked up speed....and then rode and rode...like the wind. I especially love the first picture of her on the bike. She was learning how to work the brakes on the pedals and was teasing Jim by stopping suddenly. As you may know...if something is funny to a three year old once....it will continue to be funny. For all of time. She cracked herself up SEVERAL times with the same trick.

Hmm....are you feeling the love for Mama and her camera...because I think SOMETHING is coming across loudly and clearly....is it love??? It IS love, right??

Taylor just got a big girl bike as well. We don't have a helmet either. At this age I figure she doesn't have far to fall and it has training wheels. The pictures are awesome.

What a beautiful little girl. I love that kids this age will repeat things over and over again and laugh as if it were the first time. (It makes a mommy and daddy have to be very, very careful at what they laugh at.) :-)

Wow, Lia is a go-getter! I think it is amazing that she is that adept at a bike! The photos are, as always, very cute. Happy Fall (it is really here, isn't it?)

Hi Kate...I came to your blog via Lisa's. Your daughter is just beautiful! I love the second to the last picture as it reminds me of the many looks I get from my Ella as she is so not loving Mom's camera. lol!

Have a great week-end!

GREAT pictures - how do you do the blackened edge - is that a photoshop tool? I love that.

She is so photogenic and such a willing little subject - very cool:)

Hope you are having a happy weekend. Rainy, but happy!!

More beautiful pictures, Kate. I can't believe she's riding a bike! Way to go Lia!!! Lindy won't even touch her big wheel and honestly is still kind of short for it...

Lia is full of energy and life and I can't wait to meet this doll in person.

xoxo,
Lisa

Have I already asked what camera/lens you are using or how you got to be so gifted? I know you don't *think* you are - but your pictures are always amazing!
