"Oh yeah...it was totally me...all me" Monday!

So here it is...the debut of my version of "Not me Monday". :-).I promised to share pictures from the one time I tried to cut Lia's hair myself. Honestly, I was just trying to even up her bangs and get them out of her eyes. It was a horrible mistake. Apparent after the first snip. I am taking full responsibility...and in fact hope that these photos serve as a public service of sorts to other sleep deprived mothers who might, in a moment of cloudy thinking, feel that they want to just "even up" their child's crazy hair. My message is simple. Put. Down. The. Scissors. Walk away. Take deep breaths and your child to a professional. Yes, we lived to tell about the harrowing hair situation we found ourselves embroiled in back in the spring of 2006...but it did cause days..weeks even...of angst and tears...and a whole lot of embarrassment when I finally got up enough courage to take poor Lia to someone who could fix my large error in judgement.

Here she is...so proud of feeding herself...and darling despite how badly I botched her little "trim"!

Look at her...so innocent and happy...with no idea of the "situation" going on with her hair...

And finally, one of my favorite pictures from July 2006...the bangs had been fixed and were starting to grow in...the only time Lia has ever rocked bangs...gosh she looks cute with them!!

So there you go...a little coming clean for me...a little Monday amusement for you all!! Hope it's been a good one!!

She looks beautiful to me. I am glad I saw your post because I was going to trim Mal's hair tonight but I think I will take her in the morning to someone that knows how. LOL.

She would look cute with no hair....a little slip of the scissors makes no difference!!

She totally rocked those bangs in her red, white, and blue dress.....adorable!!

My husband said I was never to touch Sarah's hair again...Her bangs were completely sloped last spring....but in time they grew out!!

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Kate,

Lia still looked so cute with her uneven bangs.

Love the last picture of her and Jim. Having fun as usual!

Hilarious! And I think she looks stinkin' cute with the bangs! You didn't do as bad as you may think...I was picturing worse! She is beautiful...no mishaps with hair will diminish that!
Happy Thanksgiving!

LOL - She is adorable :D That was quite the style then too! I have to LOL because Li LI had that same dress and hair cut - hum??? summer 2006! Last spring she cut her hair and it is finally growing out.

Well - if you want to know about my Monday you are just going to have to read about it yourself :D

Ladybug hugs,

Kate, she looks adorable, crooked bangs or no. :) I've been there. I tried "trimming" my daughter's hair once and it ended up about 4 inches shorter than it was supposed to be - I kept cutting one side shorter than the other. Good times, good times.

Ahhh -- she's such a cutie, she can totally handle those bangs! And I do hope you put away the scissors!

Have a great week!

Lia would be precious even if she rocked a mullet. I swear, she has the cutest little smile. I've never trimmed Paige's hair, but SHE did. I'll have to pull out some of those pics...geez!

You are so funny! Only Lia could pull that "do" off, she'd look beautiful bald.
I have to laugh because just this morning I'm sitting here contemplating how I'm going to cut Magnolia's hair...in time for the xmas card nonetheless. I will be calling my stylist as soon as they open. :) Thanks for sharing.

That is a funny story that you will probably never forget Kate....Lia has such a sweet smile and adorable face....that you would not even know that her bangs were uneven!! LOL! Love the picture of her Daddy and she in the rain too! Priceless!

We wish you all a very blessed Thanksgiving!
