Flashback Friday (...and the sad, sad good-bye to "footies")

The weather has turned cold in our neck of the woods.....and honestly I was thrilled. At first. I didn't waste a moment pulling out the "footie pajamas" I bought for Lia for these cool fall nights. What could be more cuddly than a gal, freshly scrubbed from her bath and smelling all sweet in her soft footies?? I was giddy, I tell you...giddy at the thought!

Yeah...so apparently Lia didn't get the memo on the "Number 1 thing a Mom loves about cool weather"...and has REFUSED...vehemently...to don the footies. She absolutely cannot sleep if she "cannot see her feet". In fact, as it turns out, NONE of us can sleep if Lia can't see her feet!

In the interest of sharing just a little bit more of myself with Blogdom, I'd like you to know that I can be downright stubborn. And determined. When it comes to important things like footie pajamas, of course.

I don't hold a candle to my foot lovin' gal.

There will be no more footie pajamas in this house for a long time.

...and so, (sigh), I content myself by lovingly staring at this photo of my sweet baby girl, proudly wearing her Valentine Footies in China in February 2006. It was a much simpler time...at least in the clothes department...

So sad : ( I love footie pajamas, too. Fortunately, Paige just grew out of loving them about 2 years ago (she didn't get the memo that it isn't cool to wear them past the age of 5 : )

I hope Lia gets a good night's sleep...maybe mei mei will like them : )

I love this baby pic of Lia! She looks so cuddly and sweet.

I am ROLLING!!! Same thing happened in our house last winter, when Allison proclaimed, "I cannot wear those because my feet need to be FREE!" HUH? But Mommy LOVES the footies!! Nope- had to cut all the footies off for the sake of her feet, that needed to be free. :( I'm feeling for you, Kate!!

Oh my -- what a sweet picture of your girl with her little footie pjs! None of my kids would wear them -- they even had to have their feet sticking out from under covers!

Love your flashback Friday -- am going to have a photo of Maddy when she was a baby next Friday!
Have a fun weekend!

This flashback is so cute. Lia is just a lil cutie pie!!!!

Kate would NEVER wear footies. I bought them for her but she FREAKED out when I put them on (at 10 months old). I think it reminded her of how bundled up she was in China.

That Lia is so beautiful:)

Oh my- Baby Lia is so cute! OH no! no more footies. Guess I do not blame her- they have to get pretty warm- so cute though.

Look the kids see that they wear footed pajamas, but the parents are not wearing them. Every kid want to be like the big people. These are smart kids. If you want your kids to wear them, you have to wear them too. They are made in adult sizes as you can see here:

If you want to be famous, take a photo of the family in their footies and submit it to the site. If selected, your photo could be featured there, together with a link to your website if you have one.

I know it's so sad when they don't want feetie jammies (as we call them). I took Addison shopping for new PJ's and she insisted on mostly nightgowns with a few Dora and Princess PJ's. I couldn't talk her into the feetie jammies either. Thank goodness for old pictures : ) I love Lia's baby picture.

Now I get Amie@Heartsmiles comment on my blog - sorry about the footie pajamas! My boys went through a phase where they wouldn't wear them, but at 7 and 5 they now love them again! Lily had to wear them the other night b/c her brothers were wearing them.

The flashback picture of Lia is adorable!

So So sad! It is not cold enough here for footies yet so we shall see but I did have to say good-bye to the bubbles this summer. Now that Jane is potty trained the bubbles have been put up. This is so sad becasue she is no longer a baby!

I love footie pj's as well and so does Lucy for the moment. I think she knows how cold it gets here:) I just love the picture of Lia in China in her footies - she has always been a beauty. Thanks for sharing!
